Planned Giving Tip: A BIG Trap

We live in a stuff-laden world and there is just about everything available for every need…and beyond. What I mean is we’ve long since passed the mile marker for NEEDS and are chasing the ever-elusive WANTS.

I love America and our entrepreneurial spirit that affords anyone the opportunity to be in business… anyone willing to take a risk…and find a need (or a want) that hasn’t been fulfilled or can be fulfilled more effectively.

However, this wealthy time we live in can produce the false message that stuff equals happiness. A BIG trap!

The first Christmas in your memory proved this.

By the afternoon, the I-can’t-live-without-this stuff is often left on the floor as you run through the backyard playing with sticks. How many of you have witnessed a child receive the “it” gift just to be entertained with the box “it” came in?

Giving back is a great antidote to materialism.

“Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love.”
Lao Tzu
