It’s hard to imagine, having grown up in a middle-class home and country, what it would be like to be neglected and forgotten.
A trip around the world, or around your city, can reveal those who have been left out from no fault of their own.
For the past two years our company’s Christmas activity has been packaging rice and soy meals to be distributed in Iowa, nationally and internationally. The meals often support other programs that teach sustainable agriculture practices, education, healthcare and so much more. The meals and assistance offer a hand up, not a hand out.
These kinds of endeavors remind us of how blessed we are.
A hand up…not a hand out. Who can you give a hand up to today?
“For it is in giving that we receive.”
Francis of Assisi
